Patch v1.54

A new patch has been released for Primal Carnage: Evolution!

Please make sure that you are on the latest version by restarting your console, or by using the Check For Update option in the game properties.

WELCOME WEEKENDERS!

We've been bowled over by the sheer volume of people trying to access Evolution's online services, it's been a scramble to modify the netcode to support the level of demand coming in. We want to share our sincere apologies for any issues you may have encountered at launch, please bear with us as we resolve a few growing pains over the next several days!

This first patch primarily addresses sync issues - such as skins not being visible in the inventory, or currency and experience points showing the wrong values, along with a bunch of minor fixes and user experience improvements like a confirmation popup before buying store items and separate FOV sliders for human / dino.

If you're still encountering issues with any of these after updating to patch 1.54, please let us know in the Evolution bug reports section of our official Discord if you can.


Full Changelog - Version 1.54

  • split human and dinosaur Field Of View into separate sliders

  • reduced max dinosaur FoV to 90 (default was and still is 70)

  • boosted overall human weapon accuracy by 15%

  • Primal Cornage collectable trophy is now obtainable in Sandbox mode

  • fixed Brain Damage trophy requirement being 25 instead of 10

    • (it still currently requires kills, not hits -fixing for next patch)

  • increased time window for triggering the Dirt Nap trophy after gas mine detonation

  • fixed issues with Lucky Shot trophy tracking

  • more efficient savedata syncing with remote servers

    • (progression is now synced every 60 seconds and at end of roud, instead of trying every 5 secs)

  • added an Are You Sure? confirmation popup when purchasing items in the shop

  • new item cache system + safeguards to ensure progress is never lost if a sync fails

    • (fixes owned items not showing if not connected to remote servers, but tell us if you are missing anything!)

  • fixed cases where usable PXP could get stuck at an incorrect value

  • fixed Acro Sneeze Taunt not being a default item

  • fixed pressing the Use button more than once during a purchase causing a double purchase

  • fixed being stuck in an endless loading loop if a purchase times out on the store

  • the popup for ranking up now shows how much PXP was earned

  • fixed PXP for ranking up not always being granted instantly when the rankup notification appears

  • fixed reward item notification popup sometimes being delayed as well

  • fixed ranking bar not always accurately reflecting current progress

    • (should no longer extend offscreen when approaching rankup or at rank 49)

  • fixed the Quit Game button shortcut on endround scoreboard - press Triangle to exit now

  • fixed a stuck spot on the UtilityBase perimeter wall (all map versions)

  • Updated credits: added a missing community translator (sorry!)

Our number one priority is making Evolution as stable and performant as possible. We are 100 percent focused on that, and will be prioritizing bugfixes before adding any major new content.

For those not in the know, our small team at Circle 5 has just two active programmers that are now working across both Primal Carnage: Evolution and Primal Carnage: Extinction (PC). We're sorry for any issues you may have encountered, just know that our coding duo have been working night and day to address issues as they've been reported.

Highlights of upcoming fixes include:

  • Resolving an engine-level bug with audio spatialization that should make sound effects feel properly 3D

  • Major memory optimizations and loading system rework to improve performance and fix stuttering

  • Additional fixes for edge cases causing trophies to not unlock in some cases.

These changes will hopefully be deployed within the next week. Keep an eye out for future patches!
