Las Vegas, NV – January 31st, 2015 – An update to Primal Carnage: Extinction has been released. The update will be applied automatically when you restart Primal Carnage: Extinction. The major changes include:


  • Added prevention to drop exploits being manipulated by users
  • Lowered Dilo spit damage
  • Prevented spectators from getting drops
  • Fixed Dilo/Cryo spit staying on screen when it shouldn’t be
  • Added an idle kick to TDM and GTTC (Default time of 3 minutes, configurable)
  • Small fix for tyrants losing the ability to free look
  • Limited angle of Rex jaw movement on death
  • Fixed action track repeating on every hit in high-latency situations
  • Fixed issues with some users being able to connect to the economy servers


  • Fixed rock ramp collision on PC-ForestChasmSnow
  • Fixed missing collision on a building in Forgotten Outpost
  • Lowered door height on Verdant buildings to prevent Tyrants from entering
  • Fixed GTTC-TheFalls capture point volumes not toggling correctly
  • Increased Cascaded Shadowmap render distance from 2048 to 3072 units
  • Added FR-Seasons:


  • Revised PC and GTTC Docks:


  • Rehauled the background for balance and performance reasons.
  • Closed off the area under the crane
  • Moved Primal Cornage box and Clubhouse entry method
  • Added a building to the cargo container yard for performance reasons
  • Moved sandbag area back to prevent Tyrants from entering


  • Loading optimisation. There should now no longer be a stutter when a screen gets opened.
  • Keyboard/Gamepad control has been optimized considerably
  • All texture loading for item and store icons has been consolidated.
  • Tooltips now completely dynamically scale
  • Lots of buttons have had a slight re-alignment and their animations tuned up. There should also be a larger consistency with the font and presentation of each button
  • Fixed an animation glitch on the server browser refresh button
  • Added a fade in when a map image changes in the host game screen
  • Scrollbar arrow buttons are now animated
  • Increased the inventory size by 1 column
  • Fixed a bug where if you were in the process of respawning, had the pause menu open, and clicked, the character select menu would appear. This is no longer the case. The player should never get forced out of a menu they’re in anymore


  • Added Dinosaur Crate #2
  • Added new Common, Uncommon, Rare, and Legendary items

Coming up…
After this update we’re going to start working on ripping out our audio system for a new one. This should eliminate most of the audio issues people have been having such as crackling, disappearing, and causing general performance issues. During this time we’ll be starting up the new testing group which will help us make better progress on balance and also test new upcoming content:
