OCTOBER 22, 2026: Independent developer Circle 5 Studios is proud to announce the launch of Primal Carnage: Extinction EVOLVED EDITION on Steam today.
This is a major FREE update for all of our PC players.
The release of the Evolved Edition update is a major milestone for our little studio, representing the culmination of more than five years of work meticulously overhauling the entire game and a celebration of over 12 years of Primal Carnage: Extinction.
Some background: this summer Circle 5 released a new PlayStation version of the cult dino vs. human game that we developed in-house, called Primal Carnage: Evolution. It was the franchise’s big return to console after the better part of a decade and a first foray into self-publishing on PlayStation. For a team of five people, it was also a colossal undertaking.
While creating Evolution, a massive amount of new content and new game mechanics were produced. Today’s update brings all of those juicy new features to Primal Carnage: Extinction on Steam, alongside bespoke PC-specific additions and improvements.
Instead of releasing this as a separate title on the Steam platform, it is a free overhaul to the existing Primal Carnage: Extinction PC game, as a thank you to our most dedicated fans.
Among the new features is an expanded Sandbox Mode, which brings five bonus playable dinosaurs: Compsognathus, Brachiosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Stegosaurus, and Iguanodon.
Players can also look forward to new gameplay elements such as dinosaur drinking, a combo meter to manage, skillshot bonus points, a gameplay announcer, new dynamic HUD, expanded soundtrack, and new Dual Repeater rifles for the Trapper class.
On top of that, with the new collectable intel system there are now over 200 pieces of lore to find, for those who want to dive into the backstory of the Primal Carnage world!
